Your wedding day is one of the most special days of your life.  We are honored to be a part of it and want to help make it go as smoothly as possible.  Village Confections offers a free consultation and sampling for the bride and groom. 
   
Below are a few ideas that will help you in planning your special day.

 • Begin checking the calendars of Bakeries for availability as soon as possible. A year in advance is not too soon.

 • Ask to taste cake samples from prospective bakeries. Anyone can make a beautiful cake, but do your guests want to eat it?

 • Plan the size of your cake for 1/2 of the invited guests. Many do not eat cake and others may prefer the different flavor of the Groom’s cake.

 • Don’t forget the Groom’s cake. Let the baker have some fun with this cake to reflect the groom’s occupation, hobby, or passion.

 • If you are a person who lovers colorful motifs, express your personality with a colorful wedding cake.  For those of you who like a small amount of color, you may want to enhance your wedding cake with ribbon or splash of either silk flowers or fresh flowers. And of course, an elegant looking wedding is stunning without added color ~ it’s your decision, as you are the Bride!

Village Confections' pricing starts at $2.00 per serving for white (almond flavored) cake with butter cream frosting.  For those of you who grew up with Lou Van Velkinburgh's cakes this will be very familiar to you as our pastry chef, Hannah, apprenticed with Miss Lou prior to coming to Village Confections.

Italian Cream Cake $2.50 per serving
Strawberry Cake $2.00 per serving
Basket weave frosting add $0.25 per serving
Rolled Fondant frosting add $1.00 per serving
Shaved Chocolate add $1.00 per serving

Gum paste flowers and marzipan fruit add $2 per stem

add $2.00 per stem
Flavored filling between layers add $0.30 per serving

Tier Accessories

 
Divider sets (plates & posts) and stair sets & bridges can be rented at a cost of $5 per tier and $2.50 per pair of stairs or bridges.  This rental fee will be added to your deposit and is refunded upon the return of unbroken rental pieces.
