Helping Others

The Christmas Village strongly believes in helping others and serving our community.  With this in mind, we have partnered with Weekenders in their Fashion Your Future program.  Hosting a fashion show, making a donation, or purchasing Weekenders clothing will help clothe school teachers affected by Katrina at the MS Gulf Coast.  For more information and to learn how YOU can help, e-mail director@thechristmasvillage.org.

If you believe, you will see the glory of God.

Text Box: We are often asked "where is The Christmas Village going to be built?" and "when will it open?"  Our answer is that God has not revealed the location, and we will open in God's time.  Yes, in my moral mind, I would like to be serving women today.  Yet, that is not the case, just as in the story of Lazarus in John 11.  When Mary & Martha called for Jesus as Lazarus was dying, He continued the work He was called to do where He was.  When He arrived after Lazarus' death, Martha and Mary told Him, "If you had been here, my brother would not have died." (John 11:21 & 32)  Jesus responded, "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?"  Then Jesus looked up and said, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me.  I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me." (John 11:41-42)  You know the rest:  Lazarus walked out of the tomb.
Mary & Martha could only see things in the real and now.  Yet, Jesus had it all worked out and it was part of God's master plan leading to Jesus' death on the cross for our sin followed by His glorious resurrection later described in John.
God has the plans for The Christmas Village worked out and we must just believe and give Him all the glory as we go about working.  Please join us in praying daily and join us at a special prayer luncheon held the second Tuesday of each month.  consult the website for details. www.thechristmasvillage.org
