Dear Friends,

It’s hard to believe that May 1 is the 2nd anniversary for The Christmas Village. God has blessed us to be able to minister to 38 women since opening our doors May 1, 2007. April has been a busy month. A baby was born early weighing just 5 lbs. and 3 oz. The baby was placed for adoption and everyone is doing well. A new resident is moving in on Saturday.

Thanks to everyone that attended the Garden Party at RoseMeade. It was our most successful fundraiser ever! Over $8,000 was raised and a great time was had by all. Due to the overwhelming response and success of this event, we are planning to make this an annual event. Ladies, be on the lookout for a fabulous hat and gentlemen … this event is not just for ladies.  Thanks especially to John and Patricia Eaves for hosting the event, opening their home and antique car collection for viewing.

May not only brings the “showers” but the Flea Market and “Ride 4 Life” as well. Please read below to find out more about these upcoming fundraisers. And as always, thank you for your continued prayers and support.

With love,

Brenda & Michael

P.S. Please forward to your email list and invite them to sign up for our newsletter.  Also, if you ‘Facebook’, we have a Christmas Village page and a Village Confections page so we can quickly update events and get prayer requests out when needed.

Canton Flea Market – Volunteers Needed

Park & Ride: Park in our parking lot on Hwy 51, at the corner of Semmes & S. Liberty St (2 blocks north of the 4-way stop at Dinkins St) on the right. If coming from I-55, take the Nissan exit.

Café du Canton:  We will once again transform Village Confections to “Café du Canton”. Last October, we raised over $7,000 by selling beignets, coffee & soft drinks. This year, we will operate more like Café du Monde by seating customers under the tent and having a separate “to go” line.

Please contact Connie Phillips at 601-421-1230 to volunteer. We need volunteers to help with parking, cooking beignets, waiting tables and set up & clean up.
