Dear Friends,

I realized that in my last letter to you, I said that May brought “showers”, when I should have said “flowers”. However, “showers” has certainly been appropriate lately. God gave us a beautiful day for the Flea Market and in spite of the economy, we raised over $3,000 selling beignets and coffee at Café du Canton. Down from $7,000 in October, we were well organized and we are ready for the crowds in October. Everyone had a lot of fun… thanks to all of you that volunteered.

Now, on to the next fundraiser … Ride 4 Life Bike Ride and Rodeo. If you plan to help with this event on Saturday, please join us for a volunteer meeting Wed., May 20 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Room 102 at 6:30 pm.

Also, I want to remind everyone with children under 12, there will be a bike skills rodeo at 9:30 am. Lunch will be provided if you preregister by Thurs., May 21. However, everyone is welcome to register and participate the day of the event for the ride and the rodeo.

If you are unable to come to the volunteer meeting, but want to help, please contact Ashton Page for more information. Please contact Ashton Page at 601- 812-7018.

Sincerely,

Brenda Van Velkinburgh

License to Live

In case you haven’t heard the news, a recent Gallup poll shows that more Americans are now pro-life than pro-choice since the landmark Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion.

It makes me smile to be riding down the rode and see someone with a Choose Life car tag. I always try to see if it is someone I know!

But did you know that by purchasing a Choose Life tag, you are helping The Christmas Village and other pro-life organizations around our state? It’s easy to convert your tag. Simply take your current tag to your local tag office and order a new Choose Life tag for just $31. You don’t even have to wait until your current tag expires! Your new tag will be mailed to you. It’s so easy!
